La Maravilla Que Se Muerde La Cola

Spanish Documentary Musical

The citizens' movement ILLO is fighting underground against the multinational R&B company, whose tourist apartments have encroached upon apartment blocks where people live. This story takes place in Seville, but it could happen in any other tourist city in Spain. ILLO has chosen El Pali, the Seville troubadour, as a symbol of their struggle, thus reviving the figure of this former singer.

This documentary film, with touches of fiction, asks: If he were still alive, what would El Pali sing to Seville today?... To try to answer this and other questions about the identity of cities and their danger of extinction in the face of mass tourism, the film features the testimonies of seven prominent people from Seville, of different ages and backgrounds.
